Dental implants
A dental implant is a tooth replacement option that provides the closest feel to having a natural tooth. Implants are artificial tooth roots shaped like a screw, and surgically placed into the jawbone to secure an artificial tooth or a bridge. Implant restorations are stable and look just like your tooth. Unlike bridges, they do not rely on surrounding teeth for support but rather are placed into your jawbone by our qualified dentist and oral surgeon. The bone then connects with the artificial post and bonds it into place for a stronger, more durable restoration. The dental implant is then topped with a crown to complete your natural-looking smile.
Dental bridges
Dental bridges replace one or more missing teeth in your mouth. Dental bridges are fixed, in that they are securely cemented to the natural teeth on either side of the gap, which act as supports for the artificial floating tooth/ teeth missing. In some cases, they are fixed on dental implants that have been placed next to the missing teeth for the purpose of support.
Conventional complete dentures and partials
Complete and partial dentures are the economical treatment option for tooth loss. While complete dentures derive their support from the gum and underlying jawbone, partial dentures are supported with the help of clasps that hook onto your remaining teeth. Partial dentures can have rigid metal frameworks for a stronger, more durable appliance, or a flexible resin framework with more esthetic non-metal hooks.
There are two types of complete dentures: immediate dentures and conventional dentures. Immediate dentures are made before your teeth are removed and inserted on the same day after your teeth are removed. They may need some adjustments to get the perfect fit.. The advantage of immediate dentures is that you are not without teeth during the healing period, which can take 10-12 months. During the healing period, your bones and gums can shrink and your immediate dentures may need to be relined by your dentist for a proper fit. Conventional dentures are made with great attention to detail and inserted after the healing period is over. The dentures resemble the appearance of natural teeth and gums. The dentures can be removed when needed.
